Handlebar comfort
I have a 2000 Nomad FI. My problem is my wrists seem to twist outward to fit on my grips. Almost as though the bar ends are too close to each other and turned back too much. My wrists get sore / numb is short time. I find myself grabbing just the ends of the bars. I am not overly wide 6'2 at 230 lbs. I almost feel like I need a straighter bar. Has anyone swapped bars for the same reason? I have stock risers and recently added 3/4" sockets for cheap riser extensions to try the feel. I thought about sitting on stock bikes at a dealer but rider position may affect the feel. Am I the only one?

I stayed with the stock bars but then I'm not as tall but much thicker than you. 30,000 kilometers last year and what was finally comfort for me was 3 1/8 risers with 2 inch pull backs custom made for my bike 300 well spent. Friend of mine with same bike ended up with Long Horn Bars and a 2 1/2 rise and 3/4 pull back be is 6' 4" about 260 lbs not thick at all...

Just a thought but you may have the bars tilted up to much. Loosen the clamps and rotate the bars down in the clamps some and see if that helps. That's what helped me.
Just don't go so far down that the ends hit your knee or leg when you turn short like in a parking lot.

I added the 2" spacers to my bars, and also rotated them down slightly for more comfort in my wrists and arms. That seemed to cure my issues too.

i'll try rotating them down. Didn't try that yet.
Thanks. It'll be a month before I am on the road again but I'll give it a go. |

I'm 6'2 and 230 and the bike fits me perfectly. Maybe I have longer arms and shorter legs!

Be careful about rotating the bars down. Whoever set up my bike put them down too much, at least for me and I ended up trapping my knee between the bar and tank making a low speed turn. Brillo (http://vroc.org/view_profile.php?use...b=2#photoalbum) used mean streak bars on his 2000 and on his 2005 Nomad.

6' 1ish and 2 something. Rivco risers, up3/4 and back 2 and I think they are going to be great.
