The Converter ball under the bike.

Is it possible to remove the converter and reroute the pipes on my 2006 Nomad without causing an problem on the back pressure? I feel that removing this thing might increase my fuel mileage and performance.

The Converter ball under the bike.

It is generaly refered to on this site as the goats belly.
Lots of guys have removed it, split it in half, removed the insides and welded it back together, then reinstalled it.
I am not one of them however. I'm sure someone who has done it will chime in and let you know what, if any benifits they got by doing it.
Welcome to the forum :)

The Converter ball under the bike.

If you search goat belly here, or on the web, You will likely find the good, the bad, and the other, on how to deal with the GB. (on the web search, use Nomad goat belly)

I, like TC, have left the GB as is.

Welcome!

I am sure wolfrider would just enjoy knowing what you replaced it with! Thats the info he is looking for. (unless you just took it off, sold it, and are running open exhaust )

Aftermarket exhaust, most likely.

The Converter ball under the bike.

cat, goat belly, collector, pre muffler is all terms for the same thing..

I think some are a true cat and others are a pre muffler... I am not sure about that.

I took mine off and never looked back going with V&H. I am far from sold on gutting the goat, and or cutting stock mufflers up, but hey it's just me.
