Can our Canadian brethren turn off the cold please

I intentionally set my personal best (worst) for cold weather yesterday morning for my commute--15 degrees in Frederick, MD (My halfway point).

The night before, when I checked the weather, it was supposed to be in the low/mid 20s the next morning. That's c-c-c-old, but t-t-t-olerab-b-b-le.

When I woke up, the temp was a surprising 15--but would be near 50 for the evening return. Normally, 20 degrees has been my cut-off. Below that, and the car becomes very seductive (How 'bout ridin' me, Big Boy? You KNOW how to turn my heat box on, now don't ya'?). Plus, since I'm still re-assembling the Nomad from the paint job, I had to take the Classic (smaller windshield, no lowers). Being able to use the HOV lane on a warm afternoon was the deciding factor.

So, I tucked my pants into my socks (beneath overalls), used the hood of my Tourmaster under my helmet and battled a fogging mask (Open it a crack to clear the fog, freeze my face, close it to warm my freezing face, try to blow my exhaust breath out the bottom of the mask, eventually have to re-crack the mask, etc.)

When I got in, my toes were cold, but not frozen. My fingertips stayed cold for a while. And that first cup of coffee was what a first cup of coffee is supposed to be.

I'm guessing that's probably the last of our cold, cold weather, Right, Hosers? Next year with the Nomad, I'll be trying 10 degrees.

Its not that bad here, its gone from 4 a couple days ago to 38 and climbing so far today. Its supposed to rain later today or tomorrow. I hope it does so it can wash away the salt and sand before I bring the bike out.

I'd LOVE to turn it off, but it just won't stop... -25 here today (a balmy -49 with wind chill). No riding for awhile yet...think of all the miles I'm not putting on, though.

-1 C and sunny here today. Yesterday it snowed on us and left 10-18 cm. in most places around Vancouver. They're calling for rain and warmer weather over the next few days. But they said that the last time we had snow and it kept snowing with real cold temps.. It ain't over till it's over, and who the hell knows when that'll be.
