Who isn't working today?

Today is President's Day in the USA, and here I am at the office. We support global business operations, and today is only an American holiday, so we have to be on the job to support the rest of the world.

Same here. I'm off the rest of the week after working Saturday, Sunday, & Monday day shifts. We have an observed holiday for Mardi Gras instead of Presidents Day down here. But if you are a shift worker and you are scheduled to work for all holidays, so be it....

Family Day here in Alberta. I think a few other provinces recognize this holiday now like, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.

Like you, I'm in the "office" cause that's just how the schedule is.
My family is spread out across the country anyways so I might as well be making money.

Good ol govt job for me too!!! It's been pouring rain all night and expected to rain all day. 3 feet of snow expected in the mountains. I'm sitting by my window and it's a hard steady rain right now at 7am...

Off today not due to holiday but because plant operations are on shift schedule and it just fell that way. To us every day at work is "just another day" we have to survive to get to the ones we can enjoy. Think I'll wash the "road grime paint protectant" off of Lucille's tins and then go out and put on another coat.

LW, Are you on a 28 day rotation? I work 12 hour shifts and here's how they are arranged:
Tuesday - Friday dayshift till the following week
Tuesday - Thursday nightshift then off 24 hours and work Saturday - Monday dayshift
Friday - Monday nightshifts then off 7 days until the following Tuesday to start the rotation again. The 24 hr change from nights to days is the worst

I get 11 paid holidays a year but President's Day is not one of them so it's off to work i go :(

Its our second annual family day here in Ontario, so I spent it fishing with my son. It was a great day on the lake and we came home with two nice whitefish.
