Baffled no longer!
Well, the operation was a success, even with limited mechanical ability and even crappier tools. What should have been about a half hour,as reported, took about an hour. But let me just thank the people here for their input, the info was right on,as were the results. Not much louder but more of a low rumble. You can actually hear the exhaust cruising down the road, instead of just motor noise. I'm very happy with the results, albeit a short sampling w/30 degree temps today. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Thanks again Kawanow members

Glad to hear you liked it. I also was very happy with the results when I did mine not to long ago. It took me a little longer than the "30min" as well, but I was being overly cautious. Ride Safe and enjoy the bike. This is how these bikes should sound in the first place.

I'm interested in hearing if you feel it effects your performance and gas mileage as I too am thinking of removing baffles from stock pipes....aloha

you loose just a tad on the low end but gain it on the top end, which I prefer. No change in gas mileage, still crappy. But sounds deeper, actually to me better then after market pipes. I am old and cant take loud. lol

I enjoy mine, now that I'm debaffled. It sounds great and doesn't change that much on the bike. Such a simple fix for so little money.

Congrats on the bafflectomy. I wish mine had taken an hour. I labored for over 5 hours and had to resort to a slide hammer before they gave up their ghosts. I suppose heavy carbon build-up was the culprit. But no regrets. Nice, deeper sound without being obnoxious.

I am so happy with my debaffled pipes. I had V&H on my 02 Nomad and I grew to hate them on long rides. When I bought the 08 I swore to myself that I would not do that again, especially after spending 2 years riding a nice quiet Wing. The baffle mod lets you sound like a motorcycle without the harshness of aftermarket pipes.
