OEM rated horsepower and torque

Anybody know what a stock 2007 Nomad 1600 horsepower and torque? I looking for what is actually delivered at the back rubber, not the engine. I had my bike dyno tuned today after mods, so I don't have a baseline. Thanks all

I can't answer your question but I am curious what mods you have done and what horsepower and torque you ended up with.

OEM rated horsepower and torque

Hard to believe that no body has answered this question. I don't know the answer but thought that I could find out. Looked in the owners manual with no luck, looked on the Kawi website with no luck. So, can anyone enlighten jlamz, and me, about the HP and torque of the stock 1600 engine?

What suprises me even more is that when they dyno tuned his bike they didn't do a baseline dyno run. I have seen that done on both harleys and hondas where the shop will print you off a stock run and then show the improved run after the mods were installed.

On Gadgets Fix-it page specs for the 1500 FI Nomad claims 55 hp and 73.3 ft. lbs of torque.

I went to dynojet.com

On the jet kits they sell they show both before and after dyno runs but on the Power commanders they don't (probably because there are different maps?)

Wolfman is right, the dyno-tune should have given you both the base (ie, stock hp and ft. lbs. numbers) and the new numbers in the printout. If not, contact the shop that did the dyno for you; they should have it saved on their computer and can print it out for you.

On the Specs page off the KawaNOW website, I have the maximum torque listed for some of the models, but not for all, however, I have no horsepower info.

Once some data is verified as to the horsepower and torque, I'd like to list it on the website.

OEM rated horsepower and torque

I did the mods before I took the bike in for the dyno, so I couldn't get a stock baseline. However they ran a baseline pull. My mods consisted of stealth thunder air kit, FI2000r, cobra slashcut true duals. I also removed the reed valves and put coasters on (this did not affect performance, but sure cleaned the engine up). I also routed the crankcase breather to a cool looking external filter.

The base line pull showed horsepower at 52.31 and torque at 69.36. The tech told me this is true HP and torque at the back wheel rubber, not the manufactureres numbers which are at the engine. After 5 more pulls, the HP was 54.73 and torque was 72.13.

The surprising thing about this was the final settings on the FI2000. The baseline was run at Cobra's recommended 3-5-0. I took the bike in because I was seeing black smoke when accelerating and a coughing or sputtering when accelerating from idle. Anyway, the final setting was 0-0-0, and the tech said the fuel mix was still to rich but he couldn't go any lower. The FI only adds fuel, can't subtract fuel. So I am now running at 0-0-0 which means the fuel mix is the stock ecu fuel mix. I guess I wasted my money on the FI. Hey anybody know of a fuel processor that will reduce below the stock settings, other than the power commander?

I guess the good news is more power, more torque and better mpg. Anybody want to buy a used FI2000r, lol?

Oh yeah, one last thing. The power cruve is absolutely smooth from idle up. Which is why these nads are such great cruisers.

Sounds to me like maybe you could add new pipes and air set up and NOT need a power commander??? One other member on here said the same thing. Can we get an offical opinion from Brad on this item, since alot of us :-/ are thinking(been told too) you need a power commander if doing both mod's??? Sure would save some $$. Thanks

the power commander is the only modual the can lean and richen the fuel to air mixture. a little pricy but well worth the $$$$$$. i put a hypercharger v&h pipes and a powercommander. it made a huge difference. i also had mine put on a dyno and set up, it showed max hp65 max torque at84. but its was way to rich even though they said it was right. tons of black smoke when i twist the gas. so i just went with the fuel map from power commander and it runs way stronger, alot more power. i would like to know what hp and torque is now.
