Ordered the Speedo Healer for my new Nomad...

Chatted a bit with Todd (nice guy) at SpeedoHealer (U.S.A. distributor) for a bit about the proper application for my new '06 Nomad. Went ahead and ordered it 'cuz I'd like the speedo/odo to be as accurate as possible from the get go.

Has anyone else added this? and what are your thoughts about how well/poorly it does what it's supposed to do? Was the install tough or confusing? Todd told me to just go to the SpeedoHealer website and use the info there instead of reading the directions. Said it takes about 1 minute to get it dialed in once installed! Hope he's right...

Daryl

Ordered the Speedo Healer for my new Nomad...

Hey Daryl,

After reading about the speedo errors when I first found this site I was willing to live with the difference but I am starting to realize that the difference is not good in traffic so I'm interested in this now as well. I would like to know how well the mod works and how much of a challenge it is to install.

I'm curious Idaho, where do you guys up there deal with traffic? An occasional moose in the road?

I have known allot of people to put this on there rides. Kawai, yami, honda, and almost any other bikes are off. Some folks swear that the speedo healer worked great for them. I'm old school i can figure it out in my little brain that my speedo is pretty much 5MPH off above 30. Hope it works great for ya and let us know how wellit works on your NAD.

Well, my thinking in ordering the SpeedoHealer is NOT that I can't do the math for the 5% error from the factory, it's that I'd like my odometer to show the correct mileage on the bike, not 5% more than the bike actually has on it. I guess I'm just kind of OCD that way!!!

ds06nomad. I'm sure you can do it in your head and i apologize if I my last post It sounded like you couldnt. (MY BAD ::)) but what I was trying to say was yes people have had good success with useing those speedo healers. I understand your concerns over the ghost miles on the bike.

Because it is not a mechanical odometer, it may not be as off as the spedometer

Some people on here have clocked a mile on the odometer and a marked mile on the hwy and say they are very close but the speedo is off 5%-10%+. Apparently the faster you go the more the speedo is off. Therefore these bikes must top end at about 95 max if you take 10%+ error off your speedo reading. We need MORE HP!!!! these have only like 50 HP. We need more like 100HP

Funny. There is a moose living in the neighborhood but I've not seen it on the bike. Lots of deer. A few cars. The really bad drivers are on I-15 going to and from Utah. Those people are nuts.

Suzuki is coming out with the C109RT in February. 109 cu. inches, 127hp. Has a 250mm wide rear tire and can do 150.

No lowers, no rear roll bar, no passenger floorboards, no case guard, no locking saddlebags, just lots of muscle, a windshield and a sissy bar.

I thought the next sized up rear Metzler would take care of that.

beezer, I believe that the Metzler will cure part of the problem but things will still be off. I'm really starting to consider this fix myself. Blew by two state troopers today and my speedo indicated 85, my buddy on his Harley behind me said that we were doing 78.

I heard that the next size tire would fix the speedo error too. What else would be wrong?
