Goin thru withdrawls
The weather here in Spokane Washington is wet, lows in the 20's and highs in 40's and it sucks for not being able to ride much. I still go out occasionally if it dries out a little and very rarely ever see another bike to wave at. I love this area with all the mountains, lakes and wildlife but am really starting to go thru Nomad withdrawls. Dave

Goin thru withdrawls
I know how you feel, I'm going thru it myself but for another reason, I had surgery last Friday on my hand for Dupuytren's contracture, got about 12 stitches in it. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can ride again. My riding club is riding in the Christmas parade Dec. 1st. Then we're having a ride to the Children's home to deliver presents to the kids there. That's always a pleasure to do. One of our members is a really big guy that looks like Santa Clause, white hair and beard, he puts on a Santa suit and his wife wears a elf suit, the kids go crazy when we pull up.

Goin thru withdrawls
I feel for ya, Nomadwest. Even this Southern Californian gets withdrawls on those handful of days a year that riding is NOT an option. I use them as a chance to go totally OCD on bike maintenance, tinkering, and/or cleaning. It's a cheap substitute, but at least it's something involving the bike and that usually makes me happy!
Speedy recovery, Scoot. Don't push it if the hand's not healed yet. You could always play "the grinch" role if you're not on a bike. There's always next Xmas for the bike. Sucks, but recovering twice for the same surgery sucks more. Hang in there, guys. The "Jonesing" doesn't go away; it only gets reduced or disguised by occupying your mind with other things. Good time to "explore" the bike: do research on spec's; torque all bolts; take off those bags and clean/wax behind them; service the forks; change ALL fluids; clean the underbelly and wheels; clean/organize the garage or at least the motorcylce-related stuff (tools, cleaning/maintenance supplies, rags, find out just what it takes to remove that silly second piece of windshield (WTF is that all about???); etc... Goin thru withdrawls
Lived in Tacoma for about 6 mo after coming back from Nam, Fort Lewis. If Boeing hadn't shut down and made a ghost town out of the area, I'd probably have settled down there. Absolutely gorgeous country. It rains everyday of the year, but I rode my Honda 305 Dream dang near everyday.
Ride safe, Dano |

Goin thru withdrawls
I know the feeling, Dave! Yesterday, could only ride 30 miles yesterday out of Kennewick, WA. Lots of wind and showers once in awhile. I just dressed for the wx. But..... other times I just go sit on my Nomad in the garage..... making rumm rumm sounds.
