CME Appointed for KawaNOW.........

As many of you know, KawaNOW was started for the specific purpose of giving all Nomad owners a place to visit, sit back, ask questions and gain knowledge about their Nomads. I like to think of KawaNOW as a big living room with over 300 Nomad owners present, laughing, talking about their Nomads, asking questions and riding their Nomads with a big smile on their faces.

As KawaNOW gets larger in membership, I feel it is necessary that some positions be created and filled to help in the virtual management of KawaNOW. One such position is one I call the, "KawaNOW Chief Mechanic/Engineer" or KawaNOW CME.

I don't know of any other motorcycle groups doing this, but I think KawaNOW needs a Chief Mechanic (virtually speaking, of course)....a person knowledgable of the Nomad, one that is respected amoung the group and is willing to take on the task of being the final KawaNOW authority when it comes to mechanical issues with the Nomad.

The person appointed to this position will be there to help with any mechanical question concerning the Nomad, if needed. This person will actively research and find mechanical answers concerning the Nomad, when needed. This person will seek out and report new ideas, features and processes for the Nomad.

This position is meant to augment the Nomad mechanical discussion on KawaNOW and will be there to help in any discussion, if needed. This person will represent KawaNOW to the best of his/her ability. This person loves motorcycling and will promote motorcycling in a good way with a positive attitude. This person will be slow to anger.

I have asked Brad "Blowndodge" Langley to fill this position and he has graciously accepted. Please join me in congratulating BD as the new KawaNOW CME.

Thanks,
Trip

CME Appointed for KawaNOW.........

You people are too funny.

I was rather surprise that our Fearless Leader Trip asked me to come on board and be the CME. My knowledge comes from the graciousness of others who took the time to explain my curiosity about motorcycles to me.

Always remember, I'm just spitting out the words of others far wiser than me and I hope to inlight some of you to think about your beloved Nomads as part of your soul. The reason we ride. When some of either your non riding family or friends ask you why you ride, if your like me, your explanation never sounds good nor conveys the truth. I've tried to explain to others but I can't. It's in my soul. Only to be known by another rider, us.

Every motorcycle I've ever owned I've tinkered with. It had to run better than my buddies bikes. That's how is started almost 40 years ago.

I hope you all give me a fair shake and if I don't have the answer right away I will research it to provide you an answer.

No doubt, lots of questions will be asked on things I've never tinkered with or done. Those I will give you my best "guestimate" and what I think the outcome might, could/would be and the rational.

The questions that I have done I will let you know that it won't/will work based on my "experiences" with such.

Thanks for your vote of confidence and don't let Trip kid you. I was the "low bidder" on this job ;)

Same thought Wolfman; I too was thinking BD on this as I read it.
We all have knowledge on these bikes but we need to dig deeper in the workings. What BD said is true; we all need to know more about the machine we ride. So if it burps when we are on the road we don't just stand there staring at is.
Educate each other and we all win.

Similar situation with the old GTO. How many engine shops work on a real Pontiac engine? Not very many! I had to read, read, read every book I could find and take all that material to my machine shop for the work to be done on the 389. The guy made copies of all the data and started a data file for Pontiacs.
It all came from a little knowledge and a wanting to know more.
Congrats Brad.

Your right Wolf, since KawaNOW is basically a democratic society, I usually do ask for member input, but when it comes to appointments, whether that be a moderator, or a responsible position, I decided to call the shots myself. I base my decisions off of facts that I've gathered. This tends to keep the "popularity contest" at bay.
