The future...
Ok, did you hear Joe Biden's comment yesterday, about how qualified Hilary Clinton is for President and or VP? And did you see that Obama and Bill Clinton had lunch today... what do ya bet, Biden will step down (for the good of the party), Obama will pick up Hilary for VP and in return... Biden will be the Secretary of state if the ticket wins. Makes you want to vomit !!! :-[

Has any candidate ditched his running mate after seeing who his opponent picks? Right off hand I don't remember it happening. I wonder if it would help Obama or hurt him?

in 1972, wasn't Tom Eagleton the VP pick and he stepped down after it was revealed he'd been hospitalized for mental illness? I realize that's not the same situation, but that's the only time I remember a VP candidate bailing out of the race.

I had put on a thread over a week ago that after Sarah Palin was announced, Fox News had already been floating the idea. I wouldn't put it past the DNC to try something like this.

We are so screwed. I am so afraid of the outcome of this election. Not because of who may be in office because I believe that either is qualified enough, although their points of view may be lunatic but because of the way I think it will divide the nation. Not to mention the increasing tensions around the world. I read just this morning that Hugo Chavez the president of Venezuela has not only welcomed the Russian military and is doing exercises with them but has not told the US ambassador there that he has 72 hours to leave the country and has recalled the Venezuelan ambassador from Washington. Scary times we are living in my friends. I will not try to sway your decision ever, but simply ask everyone to choose carefully based on your beliefs rather than the news.
Sorry for the rant. I stepped out of my sanity there for a second. |

I too heard that comment by Biden and he said Hilary is probably a "better" pick for the VP position. Here's whats scary. Everyone would know why Biden stepped down, EVERYONE!!
If that actually helped Obama's cause and Palin supporters jumped ship to go to Hilary, what does that say about Americans in the eyes of the world??? I thought it was ballsy for McCain to pick a woman. What would that say about the democratic party as a whole if they dumped Biden for Hillary? WHATEVER it takes to win huh? When I saw on the news that at least 30 reporters came up to Alaska to find dirt on Palin I vowed to myself to never change my political affiliation unless a third or forth party comes on the scene. I understand democratic idiology but I would never approve of their tactics. Ok, I'm done.

Hmmm, maybe Obama is going to step aside, he is young, and let Hilary run for pres with Biden as VP. Then they could give Obama a cabinet post. Just a thought.

Sounds like a no brainer to elect someone with military experience. I'm just saying...... |
