Going to Hog Days 2008

Now before everyone jumps me, this is an actual hog (as in pork) event in Kewanee IL, http://www.kewaneehogdays.com/

Bet I see the other HOG types as well. I'll get some pics.

Bet everyone can't wait.

I know Roadman is pumped to go to Hog Days. We're leaving within the hour (also happens to be a nice leather store there... I found some chaps I want to pick up)

Scion0 and Roadman;

Being from Illinois myself; you should have known your first clue would have been the name of the event. "Hog Days!?" Glad you made a trip together though... and where are the pics?

You've got to love what small town Illinois has to celebrate. I know sometimes those things can be fun. You never know until you go -- but I can save you the trip if you are thinking of going to the following:

"Tremont Turkey Festival"; "Manito Popcorn Festival"; "Morton Pumpkin Festival" (unless you go to see the pumpkin cannons -- they are really pretty cool to see). I am sorry to say but none of these are a destination event either unless you live real close.

Now there is one event you might want to come see just because of its name.

It is called the "Turkey Testicle Festival" in Byron, IL (home of the Byron Dragstrip). That's right; the "Turkey Testicle Festival".

I guess they actually fry those things up and eat them by the barrel during the festival. Haven't tried them myself; nor likely ever will -- but I have been told it is one of the biggest "fall" events in the area for bikers.

These are actually in our back yard... Morton is about 10 minutes away. :-) I can honestly say that we went to the Leather shop in Kewanee and a HOG Days festival happen to be going on.

I can also say that I have never been to Byron Ill for the "Turkey Testicle Festival", not sure I'd be interested other than for the ride.

It's to late for me scionO....SAVE YOUR SELF,also went to the apple pork fest in Clinton IL.The have fried SNICKERS BARS and i bet the testicles taste about as good.
