Riding in the Rain
I have gained an appreciation...no, maybe a desire...for riding in light rain. I actually enjoy it. Slow down some, enjoy the ride, then when the sun comes back out, dried off in no time.
Does anyone else feel this way? I think I'm losing my sanity. :-/ Login or Register to Remove Ads |

If you ride in the Northwest, then you ride in the rain. I have a set of engine guard chaps that really help in the cold and rain. I also keep my raingear in the left saddlebag all year, because you just never know when you'll need it.
Mike, I've always said that I'd rather ride in the rain then ride in the fog. Rain isn't too bad, but fog is a mess. Rich |

I don't mind riding in the rain, I just hate to leave home in it. If I'm out, I'm OK with it.

Same here. I won't start out in the rain but I don't stay home because it "might" rain. My wife and I keep our gear on the bike all the time, just in case.

Don't care much for riding in the rain. I have been caught in light rain a few times but never heavy stuff. I keep raingear in my bag but do all I can to avoid the wet stuff.

Same thing in the nor'east. You don't ride, if you don't ride in rain. I don't bother much with rain gear though. The bar covers help a lot.

Not a real fan of riding in the rain. Anything that increases the possibility of cagers and bikes colliding I'm against...

Around here, you can normally ride and avoid the rain. But if you ride much, you will get caught in a thunder boomer eventually. Rain isn't that bad. Lightning is downright scary.

Riding in the Rain
I have been got in the rain a lot, its no big deal, been caught in some gully-washers just slow down and keep going.
Left Vicksburg, MS going to Arkansas about 7pm last summer and rode in a thunder storm all the way up HWY 61, stopped at Rolling Fork for coffee and back on the road. Hit Hwy 82 and stopped in Greenville,MS at a shell station for gas and coffee. The pretty little girl working there watch me filling up, I looked like a drowned cat standing by the pumps, she brings me a cup of coffee and told me that it look like I needed it and that it was on the house. You can meet the nicest people in the rain. O'yea it stopped raining when I got to McGehee, AR., over all a good ride. So ride and let it rain. |

Riding in the Rain
I came from Miami, while there every day in the summer around 4:00 - 6:00 it rained, felt good. Once during a real thunder boomer I stopped under an overpass, with the 3 other bikers, pulled out some cards. After the rained stopped we could drive through the steam. Umm sauna at 70 mph.

I don't mind it if I can stay out of traffic. I don't like heavy traffic in the rain. Not saying I would specifically chose a rainy day ride, but I do agree that it f you have good gear it can be very comfortable and peaceful. Makes the coffee and pie taste really good when you stop. I don't look for it, but don't really mind it either.
