Radiator Shroud Rattle-Fixed

FINALLY...I took the forums advice and put sticky backed sealing rubber inside the radiator shroud. Huge difference in noise!

Thanx

Glad you got it Bob. Those little sounds can be annoying.

I wonder if that's the source of a rattle I hear when the front wheel hits a bump. I have been all over the front fender trying to find it, but maybe it's in the radiator shroud. Hmmm.....

Also some have a rattle in the headlight bucket from a connector.

I added door edge guard(auto) all around metal screen that protects radiator and it still rattles(tinny sound) when you decelerate?? Didn't help me so Im still looking for a fix.

I've seen people write about this, but have never done it. Exactly where do you put it, and how much do you use?

I just used 1/4" wide (maybe 1/8" thick) black sticky back insulation. I pulled off the shroud and stuck it right up to the side of the opening to the screen. When you bolt the shroud down the rubber squishes against the radiator and screen.

Oh, I get it.

1500's don't have that shroud. That's why I didn't understand the procedure.

I replaced my shroud with a chrome one that has a welded chrome mesh screen. I wonder how to take off the factory screen from the front of the radiator, and can it be done without taking the radiator out/off the bike? Those dam little rattles can drive a person nutz. (Short drive for me).
