Finally rode two-up
I took my Bronco out of service today to repair the driveline, I have to wait a few days for parts. My wife is out of town with her car, and one of my sons has my car. That leaves me the Nomad, so things could be worse...
Anyway, I needed to pick my 17-year old up from work tonight, so I threw an extra helmet in the Nomad trunk and went to get him. It's been years since I rode with a passenger, and the Nomad handled it well. I gave him the standard lecture "act like you're part of the bike, don't try to counterbalance me, etc.". He's about 6' and 180 pounds, really didn't make a huge difference once I got her rolling.

Yep! The Nomad definitely handles 2up well.
First passenger on mine, several years ago was my middle son when he was 18. 6 ft 4 in and 220lbs. Didn't really ride much differently like I expected it to.

Having a backrest really helps. It keeps people from moving around so much, they tend to just lean back and stay there.
I've noticed on other bikes without a back rest, or a much lower one, they seem to look around you from side to side depending on when the mood strikes. |

On Interstates I actually think that the add'l weight of a passenger make the bike even more stable than it is already - the comfort on the backseat is second to none in that class!

Yeah, it was only about 3 miles. He said it was really comfortable and he felt "safe" back there.

The Nomad rides better 2up than any other bike I have ridden with the exception of my old roomates BMW. Go figure. But that thing was tricked out too.

I took my wife for a ride Friday and both of us loved it. The bike has absolutely no problem with a second rider. I can't wait for a multi-day trip with my wife.

I actually prefer riding 2 up now i think the Nomad is so much more stable and smoother than when solo.

It almost seems like the bike would rather be ridden 2-up. I rode with my wife on back again today, and just absolutely loved it.

I'm a newer rider...just started last year....and although I feel that I am a confident and capable rider, hubby has refused to ride pillion with me :'( I have never had to ride more than my own weight on a bike and I want to learn to take a passenger too!!!
We went on a big Kawasaki internet group ride through PA and NY last month and that was the first time I rode with luggage on the rack. I did notice the difference (female packing for a trip should give you a clue how heavy it was!!!), but I handled it well. So, hubby had to put the poor Nad in the shop recently and we went somewhere on my 900. I told him it wasn't fair that I had to ride pillion on my own bike ![]() ![]() The more experiences I get, the closer it gets for me to upgrade to my own Nomad!!!! ![]()

Call it a control thing but I won't ride on the back of anyone's bike! But I don't mind taking a passenger.
