Hit from behind

My brother got hit tonight by a car while sitting at a red light on his bike. The lady driving the car never checked up till she push him across the intersection, the Roadstar is total but he came out pretty good. Roadrash, cuts, brusies and his right arm is stoved up. Pretty damn lucky.
Look guys/gals when sitting at a red light or a stop sign take a peek in your mirrors - see what is comming up on ya.

Ride safe and be aware of whats comming.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your brother. Bikes can be fixed or replaced, family members can't.

I am always watching my mirror when stopped at a light or stop sign, and if I see someone approaching from the rear, I give them 3 or 4 flashes of the brake light.

I hope your brother recovers quickly.

Hit from behind

I was rear-ended at a stoplight on a bike. I didn't get hurt, but I could have as it pushed me out into cross traffic. I always look in the mirror, and am prepared to dodge.

Sorry about your bro, Old Man.

Glad your brother wasnt hurt worse and that he'll recover.

Only bright spot in the deal is that now you can talk him into buying a Nomad to replace the Star. ;)

Sounds like your brother had an angel watching out for him.I've probably said it before,I'll say it again, I just hate riding in town.

Wish him a quick recovery. I point my front wheel in an escape direction, watch my mirrors, and when a car approaches, tap the brake light a cuppala times. We had a rider killed nearby last month in the same fashion

Hit from behind

Sorry to hear of the accident, Mike. Saw a " rear ender" on a Saturday morning with no one, I mean, no one else around. Gal talking on a cell phone ran into biker at a traffic light. Biker was not hurt, tail lights and fender on bike damaged. Not only do I constantly monitor my mirrors when stopped, but I leave plenty of room between me and the car in front of me. I also have mentally prepared an escape route just in case things don't look good in the mirror.

Hit from behind

I think if some dipstick yakking on a cell phone rear ends me, they are going to have to taser me to keep from wringing the idiot's neck!

I got hit from behind in my car several months ago. It was a Saturday morning, moderate traffic. I had been stopped at a light for 20 seconds or so, and BAM! I get out and walk around, the other guy gets out of his car. No damage to either vehicle. He says to me "sorry dude, I just bought this car and I'm not used to the brakes". I thought I saw him on his phone just before he hit me. I told him he was lucky I was in my car and not on my motorcycle.

Hey Scott, I think you were lucky you were in your car and not on your bike. You're here to talk about it. Oldman, sorry to hear about your brother but happy to hear that he's OK. I get complacent at lights and stop signs. Thanks for sharing this, I will be more vigilant.
