Harley passenger compliment

Pulled my baby into the local Harley dealer awhile back. I always park it right with all the rest of the Harley riders. A black Roadking pulls up beside me and as the female passenger dismounts she looked over at my bike and said "Very pretty bike you got there". Her other half with a disgusted look, never said a word or even looked in my general direction. He probably had to scold her later on.

Sweet! I've had several compliments like that as well. Most people (who aren't riders) assume that it's a Harley. After I told one guy that it wasn't a HD, he replied, "Thought so, Harley never made anything that nice." That one made me smile...

I was at a light in Denver a month ago. Two HD riders pulled up. We chatted while waiting for the green. Both commented that they liked the bike. Also told one of them my wife would have loved her bike. It was purple.

I've never heard a snide comment about my Nomad. Most people seem fairly impressed. When I bought my bike, the mechanic that went over the finer points of operating the bike with me made the comment "Even the Harley owners respect the Nomad". So far, it's been true.

I get a lot of comments at work about it. I'm damn proud of my bike and it's the biggest, baddest one in the parking lot.

I get lots of compliments from various bike owners... HDs, Crotch Rockets, Other metrics. I don't miss an opportunity to compliment somebody elses when I like their's too though!!! A good looking bike is still a good looking bike... just as long as they understand that the Nomad is King!!! LOL!

CJ, I have had one snide comment from a Harley owner. Claimed Kawasaki stole the design from Harley and should have sued. Told him they did and lost.

I got the biggest kick out of a comment a Harley salesmen made to me a while back. He's a really great guy and a very experienced rider. I had been in his shop a couple of times, looking at a beautiful blue '06 Ultra. We emailed back and forth a few times, haggling over price. We finally reached the point in the negotiations where we were about $1,200.00 apart. I wouldn't go up, and they wouldn't come down. After about a month, he called me at home to follow up again, and I told him I had gone across the street from them and bought a new Nomad. He said, "I didn't say this, and I will deny it if you ever say I said it, but you got yourself a GREAT bike, and you're going to really enjoy it!" I thought that was extremely classy of him, but then, he's a classy kinda guy.' LOL!

Was he really being gracious, or was he simply relieved he wasn't going to have to take a beating on the '06 Ultra? ::)

Knowing him as well as I do, I believe he was being sincere. They aren't going to take a beating. Someone will (and did) pay the price....................just not ME! Heheheh!

Some do, but it's mostly the ones that understand machinery better than the average bar hopper.

Harley passenger compliment

There is a husband/wife couple in my club that ride a Heriatage Softtail. He has ridden that thing all over even in the Iron Butt runs. She is a real trooper. She rides as long as he wants to drive. We went on a long trip with them and I watched her read a book while they rode. Totally comfortable.
Well it so happened that I ended up haveing to give the lady a ride back to the hotel we were all staying at. She got on my Nomad and said "Oh my God, This is heaven. She yelled at her husband, "Sell that piece of $h*t Harley. I want one of these." He just rolled his eyes and said to me, "See what you started." I said, "I can't help it if I own a vastly superior bike."

We kid each other all the time over the Harley thing But I'll tell you this: we went on a long trip with 9 bikes - 3 Harleys came home on a trailer due to mechanical problems. Our local Harley dealer sent a trailer 350 miles to pick them up. I seriously doubt the Kawasaki dealer would do that. Harley does have that part right...
