Diameter of Vaquero OEM driving lights
I finally decided to install the OEM driving lights in the Vaq fairing. I want to put a light tint on them before installing, but I don't know the diameter of the lights. Besides the diameter of the light, I'll take suggestions on tint as well! My Vaq is black, and I want to maintain that look as much as I can. I'm going to black out the assembly, and found one company that makes a glossy smoke tint for headlights. With a headlight-rated tint I should still get good light, more visibility when on, and keep that blacked out front end when off. And finally, this should get rid of that high-speed buffeting that I heard others speak of, which is cleared up by replacing the louvers.

4 1/4" ACROSS THE LENSE, 5" O.D. ON THE CHROME OUTER RINGS.
Installing the runnin lites did reduce hiway speed buffeting a bit but the extra lite helps other drivers see me mo better and me to see at nite mo better also. RACNRAY

I know i am a couple months late here, but one thing you could try is plasti dip. It is a removable spray on paint. It has a rubber like feel to it. They sell it in a smoke color that works well for toning down lights. People around here use it a lot for red tail lights to give them a tinted look without replacing them. Best thing is that it is removable if you don't like it. You spray it on in light coats until you have the tint you want. You can get it any of your local hardware stores like home depot or we have Menards here. Dont go to Lowes much, but they might have it.
