Am I crazy or................

Every since I put the bigger ( 180/70x16 ) Metz tire on the rear of my 2007 bike it seems as if I am leaning forward and have to use the bars to sort of push myself upright.
I had the 2" chuckster risers on before and did not feel this. I now have gone to the 3" Chuckster risers to try to get back to how it was but don't think that worked.
Soooooo, do you think it is all in my head? I had Cindy sit on the drivers seat and she said the same thing. Feels like leaning forward ???

Mornin Tim, That tire shouldn't add really anything to height that you would notice. Have you changed the position of your drivers backrest at all? Those 3" risers should reall get put you in a straight up-right riding position for sure.

TC, there's only a 1/2" difference in the diameter, and so a 1/4" difference in the radius, so it only raised the rear up 1/4". The only thing that I noticed is that it is a little higher when sitting with both feet on the ground. It didn't seem to make me lean forward any that I have noticed, and I don't have any risers.

Also have the 180 on the back. I don't have risers. I haven't noticed in difference in sitting positions.

TC, when I put the 195/80x16 car tire on I did notice a difference in the height of the back. Of course this tire is 2.7" larger in diameter which raised the back 1.35". I didn't notice any "leaning forward" but it is harder to get both feet flat on the ground.

Thanks for the responses. So that clinches it, I'm crazy
The 3" risers I got from chuckster helped alot. I rode 100 miles today to check em out. Neck and shoulder didn't bother me at that distance.

Hey, everybody's ergos are different; and some folks are more sensative than others when it comes to this stuff.

I can tell when I just change the rear tire for one with new tread on it. It's a subtle difference, but it's there.

Well TC.....if you're crazy then I'll join your club!

I just installed Metz 180 and what VulcanE said about size is true but it sure as hell raised the back end up enough that I had to readjust the mirrors, then ended up changing bar height to get the same "feel" as before.

I haven't noticed the "lean forward" feel as you but something is different.

Or maybe we're both nuts.....

The answer before I read the post was if ya have to ask...
However I'm gonna have to join the princess and the pea club.
Felt like I was leaning forward. Didn't take long to adjust.
