I was recently on a trip, had tour bag on and passenger-hit a pretty good pot hole and the bike went to missing bad. i pulled over and inspected the bike and couldn't find anything damaged. The bike leveled out until I hit another milder bump and it started again. I have the cobra processor on it for the V & H pipes and it sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Anyone experienced this before?

No I have not...but I would start with the elementary first......check your plug wires and make sure they are secure on the plugs.

Four things come immediately to mind.
1) A battery cable may be comming loose. This is quite common. 2) If you used the crimp-on connectors for the Cobra, they've possibly cut into your injector wires. 3) Those sparkplug boots have carbon resistors in them to suppress radio noise. They can crack internally, & that can make the bike miss. 4) If the tail light wire or headlight wire is starting to short out from rubbing on the fender, that can cause the missing. |
