Gear for estes

I just bought a set of BELL DEER WARNING horns to stick on my bike. After last years Canadian Rally at Canmore, and hearing of a member being jumped over and his wife kicked. And after experiencing for myself a huge deer coming out of the bush and "pacing" me ( I slowed right down, and he ran across my path) I thought any form of deterrent might help. I am also adding a sheep skin cover to my saddle.
Any other tips or add - on suggestions for a long trip out there?

Those deer warning devices have been proven not to work, but if it makes you feel better, by all means give them a go.

Here is a packing list of items you can use as a start to give you some ideas.

You probably know... but in the mountains the temp can change frequently, and rain is a possibility at any time... just depends.

If thay don't work all the time then thay are proven not to work. But I think thay work sometimes and that is better than nothing.Wish I would have had some on bike 6 Oct 2011 11:30 AM. Had them on some bikes and I, thought thay worked at least sometimes. Or it could have been my brothers Harley. I have seen Those things move whole herds of cattle.

Spark Plug Spare: NGK DPR6EA-9 or ND X20EPR-U9, For both Nomad and Suzi also consider: NGK DPR7EIX-9

Wow ... Thanks guys ...I also just picked bought a Bike Master, TruGel Battery cc 270, that should work, awesome deal at Motorcycle Superstore. Battery was on sale, and came with a free Moto Stance battery charger. The battery coming out, is the original (2006) and still works great, but , coming into it's 7th year, I don't want it to crap out on the way to Estes.
ELVIS, if you don't have one, I highly recommend a US post box. I cross into Sumas, and save hundreds over Canadian prices and Tax. ... Thanks USA, we love you!!

Normally we don't have deer crossing high ways but it can happen. It's the Big horn that are fun when you ride from Boulder to Estes. The traffic will stop for photo ops way before you get to a ship sighting. Regarding weather I've driven to the top of longs peak in Estes (Rocky Mountain National Forest) in July and it snowed. One the way down we saw a full double rainbow. Very cool. I love Colorado.
p.s. I'm hoping to get together a list specific to the Colorado climate for you guys.

Once I ordered a set of saddle bags for my C50 from the original manufacturer in the States. The vendor was prompt in shipping it but it took so long to clear the Customs. I was mad....

Fortunately, we aren't big shoppers and don't do a lot of International transactions but we really like traveling in the States and the American prices.

Elvis . that's what I mean. I often see free shipping to a US address. I deal with Ship Happens in Sumas, a really great bunch of folks. They charge you $5.00 per parcel, and hold it for 60 days. It only takes me 20 minutes to the border from my house in Langley. Sumas line-ups are usually only 10-20 minutes ... big savings $$$
