I live in Maryville Tennessee and would be willing to pay for a ride for me and my bike to Sturgis and back next year. I have compared shipping my bike and think that I might be able to come out better on a rideshare. I probably would not have enough time off from work to take off more than a week and want to spend my time wisely. I would not be against spending 500 for a round trip. Next year will be my 50th birthday and I would like to do this rally as a present to myself.

I can't help on the ride share. But, speaking for myself, I would ride the ride.

Ride the bike there and back. It will greatly enhance the experience.

Looks like around 3,000 miles round trip excluding the rides in the Black Hills.
One week is just enough to fully enjoy Sturgis and the surrounding area but I still share the same opinion as other members. Can't you steal a day extra or two , after all it's gonna be your 50th birthday ![]() Login or Register to Remove Ads |

If you're gonna burn miles, they may as well be on two wheels instead of four (or 6+ with a trailer).

The only reason to put one on a trailer if your better half wants to go on the trip but does not want to ride that far or can not deal with the heat

Sturgis
Thanks Tom, That was sort of what I was thinking. I dont know yet if she is going and she would be miserable. But if the trip to Daytona during Octoberfest is a sign, she dont care for the loud and rowdy or anything too wild,so maybe a trip there alone is in order.
