Tail of the Dragon
Well, I'm breaking in my Vaquero this weekend!!!!
We're heading to the Tail and other winding roads in the Smokey Mountains of TN this long holiday weekend!!!! I'm nervous and excited all at once!!! The Tail was pretty easy to me on my 900, but I'm not sure how I'll do on the 1700!!!

You"ll do just fine. Just pay attention and don't try to set any speed records. Ride safe.

Start off slow and keep increasing the speed each trip. By the time the day's over, you'll look like one of those crotch rockets. :) Have fun!

You will probably not notice much difference since you have already experenced the dragon. Just ride your own ride at a speed you are comfortable with.

Have fun Cheriann! I'm leaving for the same trip a week from Monday (October 15th) I can hardly wait. Going to meet my brother and good friend out there for some great rides!

kawgirl - I am going to be up that way (riding the moonshiner up to the dragon then foothills parkway, little river road) and staying for the night in gatlinburg on the 13th. Riding up with my wife and a couple of guys from my club. If you are in the area maybe we can meet up.
Cheri - just take it easy, ride your ride, and hug the white lines on blind curves and you should be fine.. Have a great trip.

Take you time and pay attention to the road and oncoming traffic. They tend to drift across the line..... a lot.

I made it back safely!!!! Not only did my Vaquero and I conquer the Dragon, we did it with wet roads and misty rain on and off all day!!!! We did so well together on that road, that we conquered the Cherohala Skyway next!
