Is my Phat II Risers order missing hardware?

I was putting on my Phat II Risers yesterday, and found neither the left nor the right riser would seat completely when I was tightening them down. I looked at the enclosed documents and it mentioned washers should have been included. There were no washers included with my order. Can anyone else confirm/deny the washers? Also, if they were supposed to be washers with my order, what size should I have had? I'd like to get the bars back together for an evening ride.

Best,
B.

I dont really remember burk...but I dont THINK there were any washers used mounting mine....you do need to make sure that you put the risers on the tree loosely, then put the bars on, then make sure the risers are lined up to tighten everything down...mine lined up fine then...hope that helps.

Well, that's what I thought: if there were washer surely they would have been included, since none were included, then there weren't any.

I'm using the offset with the allen bolt. Did you use the allen bolt, or the other hardware that was included?

Hey Burk,

I just double checked and I put mine back together with the stock mounting bolts in the offset hole. I can't recall using a washer but I didn't use the allen. What year Nad? Mines an 06.

Mine is a 2005. I didn't think about using the old hardware. That's a really good idea. Thanks! :)

I used the supplied bolt...I think the washer mentioned may be if you use just the studs with a nut on the end..which didn't work on my 06.

Is my Phat II Risers order missing hardware?

I finally installed my PhatII yesterday and I wish I hadn't waited soooo long to do it. These are so dam nice. The position they put me in is much more comfortable. My elbows actually have a bend in them now and I can tell that my wrists won't hurt like they had due to the constant pressure. Before we leave for our trip to Nova Scotia I'll add the seatback from Grasshopper and I'll be able to ride comforatably for a much longer time.
The address the about issue my nomad is an 05 and I used the supplied allen nuts in the offset holes ( which is the only hole they fit) the risers fit perfect. Not even close to the nacelle or windshield. Plenty of cable play too. great product.

Thanks, I sent a reply. Maybe, like I said in my reply, I'm being to gentle with it?

Well, the allens fit in almost the way. Fitted on the triple tree and screwed in as far as I can get them, there is still 1/4" or of the allen still standing out. Basically it's just not in all the way. As I replied to jussmatt, perhaps I'm simple being to gentle with them?

I'm going to post a couple of pix of the situation I'm dealing with using the allen bolts (but, I'm waiting for the batter in the camera to charge first). One allen sinks at least a 1/4 inch further into the riser than it's sibling. As soon as I've got the pix I'll post them here.

Wait a minute Burk. You have an issue with the machining inside the tapped hole. Take the allen screw with you to the auto parts or hardware store and and get a tap to match the thread. Thread that thing into both the threaded holes equally, backing them out often to clear the chips.

Have you looked at the stock bolts? Are they shorter than the allens?

Somethings not right if you have that much play. Torquing the crap out of those allens can damage the threads in the aluminum risers or worse, break the allen off inside depending how much umph you put on there.
