$40 Homemade Backrest
I made this backrest for $40.00 it folds down and moves to fit your back. took the mustang idea on fold down. The main reason I made it myself over buying the grasshopper is I do not like the upholstery of their pad at the bottom. this pad is a Calvary backrest pad 26.00 + shipping

Looks good. Have you thought about making some extras and selling them?

No I hadn't really, might be worth looking in to. I think having the bracket powder coated would be better. it can also could be made very easy to have an adjustment screw in the back plate to keep the backrest from going too far back if someone needed it more forward ( like a mustang works ) but it fits me perfect so I didn't put one in it. |

So, how do you set the placement once you get it where you want it? I would probably be interested in one if your willing to make another. I like the idea of being able to adjust the settings and your posture.

I uploaded a picture of a mustang, see the knob on the ( we'll call it stop post ) you can turn it in or out, in pushes the backrest forward and out lets it lean back more. all I would have to do is drill a hole in my ( stop post ) and tap it, then get a theaded knob at the hardware store and screw it in. |
