In 2016 the United States has just elected the first woman to be President of the United States… Clotilde Boudreaux. A few days after the election the president-elect calls her father and says, 'So Papa, I assume you will be coming to my inauguration?'

'Mais, I doan t’ink so, cher. It's a t’irty-hour drive, yo’ Ma-ma she ain't as young as she used to be, an’ ma art’ritis be aking up ag’in.'

'Don't worry about it Papa, I will send Air Force One to pick you up and bring you back home. And a limousine will pick you up at your front door.'

'I doan know, cher. Ev’rybody will be so fancy. What would yur Ma-ma put on?'

'Oh Papa', replied Clotilde, 'I'll make sure Ma-ma has a beautiful gown custom-made by the best designer in New York. '

Cher,' Boudreaux complained, 'ya’ll know I cain't eat dose rich foods no more.

The President-to-be responds, 'Don't worry. The entire affair is going to be handled by the best caterer in New York. I’ll have them make sure your meals are salt free, and low fat. Papa, I really want you to come.'

Reluctantly, Boudreaux agreed. So on January 20, 2017, while Susan Boudreaux is being sworn in as President of the United States, in the front row sits the new president's Father and Mother. Boudreaux, noticing the senator sitting next to him, leans over and whispers, 'Ya’ll see dat woman ova dare, wit her hand on the Bible?”


The Senator whispers back, 'Yes I do.'

Dad says proudly,” Her brother played football for LSU.'
