04 nomad 1500 help

Ok here's the deal I have the Vance and Hines 3" bagger pipes and the caddman air filter mods on each side running the power comander 3.

Well been riding every thing was good in the cooler weather last couple three times in the evening after the temperature gets uP over 90 deg It starts to cut out, if you throttle up it will smooth out. Changed out the plugs they looked good maybe a little lean looking.

Any ideas on what to look for? Really need to get this thing lined out and can afford to take to the stealership?

Get rid of the power commander.
The computer doesn't like them!

What would you replace it with?
Would that cause my bike to act like this?

It's easy enough to disconnect it and see for yourself, unless it's hardwired to the injector wiring. It's also possible the map that's loaded in it has become corrupted.

Could be corrupted just seems odd that it ran fine after doing the air filter mod and loaded the the commander, gas mileage has gotten a whole lot better. Just a little harder to start first thing in the morning. But now I am afraid to ride it.

So try reloading the program and see what happens?

Did you disconnect or remove the idle solenoids on the right side intake? Doing that makes it idle rough when the engine's cold.

04 nomad 1500 help

I just had an issue like this when i Rode from Colorado to Texas. It started out as nothing but continued to get worse and worse. After a great dealer spent about 6 hours troubleshooting it, it turned out that the previous owner had a power commander in there but when they pulled it out they messed up the wiring for the TPS.

The bike runs smooth now.

I know this is a long thread but the EXACT thing happened to me and I have the same Power Commander III. It was flooding the rear cylinder for no reason. I removed it and all is great. I have recently updated the firmware and it has been performing so much better. I am 99.9% sure it is the power commander.
