Day 4 and 5

Camped in Cades Cove.

Did some riding in the Park all the way up to 6500 feet. Traffic was heavy. Had to make my way through 4 bear jams on sat. No Fun.

FYI - there is road construction on US 441. It was shut down for the weekend but I am told that it is a major delay during the week. It is on the TN side, so for those who want to ride up to the "top" of the Smokies on our day off can do so from the NC side.

This AM rode down the "Foot Hill Park Way" (half way between the Park and Maryville, TN) going south. What a treat. Very little traffic and good road. Also, there is a campground there that is NEVER full. It is only 6 or so miles from US 129 and the "Dragon".

When I got off the park way I was on US 129 going Nth (away from the Dragon) - I must have passed 200 bikes going the other way!!! Yep, what a zoo that place must be on the weekend.

I am now cooling my heals in a McDs and will head over to Lenoir City to meet Oldbiker and his troop.
