A quick measurement please

Since I'm about 7000 miles away from my bike, I was wondering if someone could give me a quick measurement of the area between the inside of the forks, right under the headlight.

The reason being I want to mount 4 little 2.5" spots on a bracket down there to hold my EMT strobe lights. I can mock up a quick picture if it will help visualize what I'm talking about.

Thanks

It is just under 8 inches between the forks under the headlight and you have about 6 inches from the bracket under the headlight to the front fender. Hope that helps. Have a great day. Dennis

A quick measurement please

haha, that was a good one

Well thanks for measuring for me, but that's just not enough room for my plans....

Here's the enclousures I was going to use http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS....ht _2284wt_1165

But 4 of them won't fit in that space. Anyone got some diff mounting ideas or know where I can get 1.5" - 1.75" enclosures for about the same price? 1.5" is the minimum so the strobe can fit in the back of the enclosure. And I'd like to mount them as high as possible so that they can easily be seen by cars in front of me, yet so they are not really seen when they are off.

Thanks for the ideas

Sorry Tim, but I couldn't let a classic set up like that go to waste. Keep lobbing me those right over the plate.

Instead of mounting them on the inside of the forks, can you flip them to the outside? Or, is it possible to mount them to your handlebars somehow? Or, even on the crash/engine bars? I know you want them mounted up higher, but it's a possibility.

Well, I found some oval lamps that are 3.5" wide, so I could put two bulbs in each one and then have my four bulbs under the headlight still. And I did think of the crash bar, but the strobe lights are a plug that fits into a 1" hole, so there'd be an unsightly little plug sticking out the back of the housing that you would see with it on the crash bars.

But here's the link to the oval housings. You guys think these would fit/work?
