13 inch progressive shocks?

My new V&H pipes are scraping, when riding two up. Besides both of us going on diets, what are my choices for getting some more clearance ? Was thinking of going with a 13 inch progressive shock ? any suggestions ? thanks in advance.

Are you riding with 30psi in your stock shocks?

Put an air balance kit in mine, but am taking back out. With the air balance kit in, im slowly loosing pressure, plus end up having to remove the seat to check/refill any way. So goin back to stock shock setup, and will give it a try at higher psi. I believe 43 is max ??

What size car tire are you using? After I put a car tire on my bike, I started scraping my Cobra pipes going in and out of my driveway, because it lowered it quite a bit.

The smaller car tire and a linking balance kit are both going to have a large effect on ground clearance. When installing the balance kit, make sure you use a LOT of tape to prevent the leaks.

Yep, same tire I had. You probably lost close to 1" ground clearance when you installed that tire.

That is the one thing I don't like about the CT on mine is the loss of clearance. Of course if I would lose some weight and not be such a fat @ss, that would help too ;)

I can't say enough good about the 13" 412s on mine.

That was hands down the best change I made. No more ever having to worry about air pressure in the shocks.

Try a 205/65/16 next time. I think you'll like it better. There are many more choices over the 195 and they generally cost less.

Is there anything to gain using a 440 over a 412 ? amazon has the 412's for about $250. all the 440's ive seen are pushing $500 or better. or is it apples and oranges ???

The 440s are more adjustable than the 412s, they also cary a lifetime warranty.

I have 13" 412 HDs on my bike and a set of 440 HDs 11 1/2" that I ran for a while.

The 440s are looking for a new home.

Price for (412-4213 Progressive) from Phat Performance is $215.00 on todays price list.

When you change to progressive rear shocks...do yourself a favour and get the front spring kit too. No more mushy front end. Great handling improvement too.
