PJ1 Balance Plus

Has anyone ever used PJ1 Balance Plus in their tires? If so I would like your opinion.

I have a new tire ordered and on the way. The only motorcycle mechanic in town will change my tire but doesn't balance. He told me he's never balanced a motorcycle tire in his life.

I found a bottle of the PJ1 this afternoon at an out-of-town motorcycle dealership. However, even though they sell the stuff, no one there had any idea if it works. They said for me to try it and report back to them!!

This stuff supposedly will continuously balance a rotating tire ( I guess like dyna beads) and also seal punctures.

My current back tire has a nail in it and I don't want to drive it out of town. It would be easier to take it to the local guy.

I've never heard of this stuff. Personally, I'd use Dynabeads to self-balance tires. I am not keen on filling my tires with goop to prevent flats. I carry a small compressor and tire plugging kit for when that happens.

Dynabeads I have them in my rear tire (car tire) and the front tire just came back from a 300 mile ride all interstate at 80+ and as smooth as glass

+1.....and I'd add soft airgun pellets to the list of balancing beads that work.

I have used Ride-on with no problems but never had a flat with it in the tire.

I just put Dynabeads in my new Metzler 880 and I am very happy with the ride. Ran it up to 90 and very smooth ride. Now time to put them in the front.

i did use the pj1 product when i rode up to alaska and back.i was more concerned about the puncture protection aspect of it.my tires were
normally balanced so i can't attest to the balanceing aspect of it.

That frightens me! They sell the stuff, and they never hear from anybody that has used it again?

Get one of them to put it in their tire and report back to you! If you never hear from them again your answer is obvious.

I've never used dyna beads. Will they work in a tire that has sealant in it?

He doesn't balance motorcycle tires?

Interesting...

Doesn't anyone else find that strange?

Yes, I find it strange. I've never used this guy but as I stated in my original post, he is the only motorcycle mechanic in this town.

The next closest mechanic (25 miles away) also doesn't balance them. He puts dyna beads in the tires.

I don't have a motorcycle jack. A good buddy does but believe it or not, it really doesn't work well on a Nomad. I may have to borrow a trailer and take my bike to a dealership for a tire!

The Nomad does not sit securely on a jack due to the crankcase extending below the frame. That's why the Idaho Jack Adapter was created. It attaches quickly beneath the frame and provides a stable lifting platform for the Nomad. You can find the post at the top of the "for sale" section.
