Ear plugs?
These are what I use: http://www.westonemusicproducts.com/...cians-monitors
Not cheap, but extremely high quality. A cheaper version that doesn't require a visit to the audiologist: http://www.westonemusicproducts.com/...driver-monitor There are still less expensive options to be sure, but from my perspective, I have to take good care of my hearing if I want to keep eating. :)

Ear plugs?
I wear ear plugs and have for yrs. I wear an open face helmet.
I buy them at Walmart - they are disposable and cheap and they work. Makes a big difference by the end of the day.

Ear plugs?
I also wear the foam disposable ear plugs, they do a suitable job for my purposes and are pretty cheap. I usually only use them on longer rides with my 1/2 helmet.

Ear plugs?
Chalk me up for foam ear plugs too. Was an absolute necessity on my KLR if wearing a half helmet, noise for one and second to keep the flying insects out of my ears - an additional riding hazard in amish country when they spread the manure.

Ear plugs?
Quote:
![]() Joe, I am a fan of using ear protection. Just the wind can do alot of damage. Now crank up the MP3 to max and I am OK with that....go figure. I use plugs (disposable foam) when I wear my half helmet but not my full helmet. I am thinking about getting a "quiet" 3/4 helmet so I get the best of both worlds; don't need to use plugs and stay cool.

Ear plugs?
I've got a pair of these: http://tinyurl.com/3pp6xcj
I really like them, they do a good job of blocking out wind noise, come with several different sized earbuds to fit in your ears, and they really have a good sound to them for something under $100. The only problem I've found with in-the-ear type stuff is that when you stop you can see your buddy's mouth moving and know that he's talking to you.... but you just can't hear him all that well. |

Ear plugs?
I use these ear buds, sound is very good, high sensitivity so they can be fairly loud when needed and inexpensive. http://ca.skullcandy.com/shop/ink-d-sc-black-black.html

Ear plugs?
I usually go to the PX at Redstone Arsenal and buy the Army issue type. Worked good when I was on the firing range.

Ear plugs?
I use a set of ear plugs that i had an audiologist make for me. They cost me $80 with a "noise break" in them (allows me to hear but blocks wind noise). I think it was an additional $40 to have them made with speakers. This was about 4 years ago. Often at bike shows there is a booth with someone making them. IMHO, ear plugs are as important a piece of safety equipment as a helmet.

Ear plugs?
Road with the hearing aids today to see what the new Nolan Air 43 would do with them in. Actually was quite good with the full shield and the chin bar attached. A very good seal on the helmet and quiet as well as very cool. For your info. Have a safe day. Dennis

Ear plugs?
I had a pair made up at Americade last year for less than $100. That may seem like a lot but the molded plugs do a lot better job, both road and wind noise reduced and more comfortable. I had the filter installed in mine and at highway speeds can hear both music and intercom better than I can without the ear buds in.

I posted this awhile ago. It's an article on testing ear plugs by Motor Cycle News.
