Risers

OK I know this is been talked about but I really need a little guidance on this. I am 6'1 and a little lite in the a_ _, 175lbs. I have a long reach but I think I'd like to put risers on. Primarily because I hear you guys talking about it being more comfortable. I have a 1600 nomad, 2006. Can you give me specific risers I can use without mess'in with cables, and what the benefits are. Again models, manufacturers.
Thanks

Im the same size as you and I use 4x2 risers, I don't know the brand of mine but it really doesn't matter. That means the risers raise the handlebars 4" and bring them 2" closer to you.
You can install them without needing to change any wires or cables. And they do make it a lot more comfortable while sitting on the bike.
Chuckster here on the sight sells some that are quite popular with a lot of the guys.

Use this link http://www.chucksterscustoms.com/Products I'am running a special deal for the month for KawaNow members.

For the month of June I will be keeping track of all sales that are derived by KawaNow members, and after that month is over I will be donating a percentage of those sales to the server fund.

So please put note in when ordering that you are a KawaNow member.

This again is a great site and I'm very proud to be a part of it !

Thank you
Chuckster

Risers

I put these on my bike a few days after I bought it. 2" risers like Chuck is selling above.

They are surprisingly rigid. They are essentially 2" spacers made from T6 aluminum used in conjunction with the stock risers.

Due to the fork angle, it's more like 1.5" rise and .5" pullback, which is certainly an appreciable improvement but not exactly where I'd prefer the bars to be. Had I purchased Phat Risers II I think the bars would have been perfectly positioned, but for $19.50 shipped (ebay) vs. $140 shipped, for the money this mod won out.

On my last bike I installed much larger risers (on the advice of others that the stock cables would have worked), and even with a triple tree reroute the cables were too short. On that bike, my $20 mod turned into a $220 mod. Not surprisingly, I'm a bit gun shy about making the same mistake twice, so these were as long as I could go and still feel comfortable that the stock cables wouldn't be impeded in any way.

The benefit for you will primarily be comfort in how the bars might feel more natural in their new position.

The additional benefit for someone like me (5'6") is the risers push the handlebars back so I don't have to lean forward quite as much, which helps with back pain and arm fatigue over longer trips.

6'2 here with 36 in arms. Used Chucksters 2/12" risers. Really like them.

I'm very pleased with my 3" risers from Chuckster. High quality stuff. I had 2" on my other Nomad and prefer the 3". I am almost 6ft tall. Both risers fit without any effort.

Thanks Chuckster!! I can't wait to put them on ASAP.

I know they will help with the comfort, but mainly I just like adding stuff to the bike. It gives me something to do and gives me a sense of pleasure and pride in my ride ( hey, that rhymed ((and so did that)).
