Stebel and water
I posted this question in the NMR board but some of you guys look here first so I'll ask the question here also.
We removed our Stebel's off the Nomads and are mounting them on the quads. The horn on a quad, like that on a Nomad, are crappy and I have already come across a bear back in the mountains with nothing but that crappy horn to blow. Can a Stebel take getting wet or possible submerged? We had the Stebel's mounted on the Nomads but they were mounted high up, where the windshield provided protection, and didn't get much moisture but they will get wet on the quads. They should handle normal riding. Don't think they would survive being submerged.

Stebel and water don't mix. You'd ruin the compressor.

Mount the horn up high and carry a 44 mag for backup.

Stebel and water
Can they carry handguns in the wilderness in Canada? My Stebel is collecting dust, but I don't think they are suppose to get wet.

If we could carry in Alberta, I definitely would have a gun. Unfortunately, there is gun registration with lots of red tape and we definitely are not allowed to carry a hand gun. All hand guns are considered concealed weapons and concealed weapons laws are really stupid in Canada. We can't even carry a small can of bear spray that fits in a pocket, oh no, we have to carry the large can and find a handy place to mount that on the quads.
