Power Commander III USB

I just installed that unit and no glitch. I also downloaded the New Accelerator pump software. I apply the value of 90% Sensitivity , 15% fuel increase and 20 Engine Revolution. Those are generic value that some street riders have chosen to their riding style.

However when I shift fast from the 1st thru 2 and 3rd gear its seem that like my cltuch is slipping ,like throttle goes up in rpm and the bike does not pick speed righ away. I know thay my clutch is fine because the bike was running real good before the upgrade.

Does anyone have experience to point out which value in the setting I could change as a starting point

I know that the proper map has been loaded and I did not in the map to play with it either... not knowledgeable to play with it.

It says in the manual that riders will have to experiment with different setting for the riding style but does not explain what value does actually when u ride

Bike is 03 nomad 1500 FI
Chuck custom airkit
Vance and Hines pipe

I have a PC III, V&H, Baron's BA Kit. I never downloaded/installed the accelerator pump software. Didn't see the point. I would disable/remove it and see if the bike still slips. You know the Vulcans are made with a slip type clutch as OEM? It may not be able to handle the increased acceleration, however slight or aggressive it is now. When I installed the big air breather it was a significant increase in response. Just my thoughts.

I'm waiting on my Gorilla clutch kit to arrive since I have some slippage and 40K+ miles w/ OEM clutch with Mean Streak spring.

Looking at section 4 of the manual, it seems you have a choice to enable or disable the pump function. When your PCIII screen is open, click on "Help", then on "Manual". Scroll to the accelerator pump section.

If the revs go up, but the bike doesn't gain speed - your clutch is slipping.

By un-activated the accerelator pump, my clutch slipping syptom dissapeared, however loss some pep from the throttle and backfire in third gear when twisting the throttle hard. So it seems that that I will have to re-active it and play with values and find the hot spot settings

Would any one has power commander map set up that I could try.. my bike is a 03 Vulcan 1500 nomad. I have Vance &Hines on it. The bike will run idle but as as soon I give her throttle she backfires like crazy
I tried 4 maps an still the same. If I apply the zero map the bike keep stalling and runs terrible. I recently had cobra pipes and with the avail map from power commander it ran well but I just installed HD Vance and Hines pipe it runs terrible..

03 nomad 1500
Chuckster air kit
HD vance and hines slip ons

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I suggest checking the connections for the PC. I had a bad connection once on the throttle position wire and it ran like crap, popping and sputtering.

It's something to check!

Ok.. .got the power commander to run good.. it was a matter of being tuned up properly. I had to remove the HD vance and hines though.. not enough back pressure from the engine.

I re-installed the cobra and she runs muxh better. I modified the baffle and she has good deep sound now ..tkx for all ur help guyz

Glad you got it figured out. Guess the Vance and Hines were the culprit all along.

Installing some torque cones may have helped with the backpressure problem. Although I think your solution is probably the best one to go by overall.
