I surrender to V-twin Lifter Noise
Okay, I give up. The lifter noise is normal. Everyone says it is suppose to be that way and I know they are right but I am still fighting the sound because the last bikes I owned before the Nomad were Gold Wings. Any phycho analyst out there that can make me metally accept this noise?

My lifters will 'tic' until the bike is fully warmed up. About 10 miles. Plus you came from a GoldWing? Geez, those things are so quiet, I can hear the bugs scream when they hit the windshield!
Uhhh, our last three bikes were Harleys, which we liked, but were not as quiet as the Nomad. Not near.

It takes some getting used to dan, but it'll come.
I came to the Nomad from the Honda Magna world. Nice, petite 750, V-4 to a clunky, noisy, twin. But, it was worth it.

I agree with the rest of the gang. Keep riding, you will get used to it. I have a new chirping kind of sound. Not sure where it's coming from or what it is.

I've always owned V-Twins. I didn't realize the lifters made a noise ??? and believe me if there's a new noise I'll hear it and trace it down

My last motorcycle was a Goldwing 1500SE. I was never really very satisfied with it because it did not have the mechanical reciprocating sounds that I enjoy from a motorcycle engine. I like having an engine between my legs that I can see feel and touch. The Wing was just too isolated from the rider for my taste.
The Goldwings are great well designed motorcycles just not suited to what I want in a motorcycle. They have great smooth power and toque, but to me my Wing always felt neutral and flat when cruising at a steady speed or at idle. The Nomad has a nice balance of that old style motorcycle feel and a smooth vibration free engine that has a pleasing rhythm and mechanical personality. |

TC, don't lie, you know you like some vibration in your ride.
