Harley trunk wiring

For those of you that have a Harley trunk with lights in it used with a Wompus rack I pose these questions: How did you hide the wiring from the trunk to the bike and did you use the lights as running and brake? Getting my trunk soon and wondering what the experts did.

TIA

dave....

The wiring exits a hole in the bottom of the trunk in the front LH corner. Your bikes wiring can come up under the seats and exits at the rear of the passenger seat. the seat and the backrest hide the wires. Id connect it with a couple plugs so you can easily remove the trunk if the need arises.

Harley trunk wiring

Dave and I helped Tomk wired his HD trunk to this Nomad. The lights on the trunk are running and brake but not turn. As Steve points out it runs out a hole on the left bottom. We ran the wiring under the left side trunk mounting bracket zip tied to the frame (hidden) and ran the speaker wires the same way on the other side. Wasn't real complicated but just lots of wiring... used Deutsch connectors for a 6 pin connection so all the wires have just one plug in on each side. Those connectors hold much better than those lousy crimp connectors that brake all the time. Deutsch connectors are also waterproof.
