I've seen that program a couple of times. Pretty cool. But I wouldn't want that job. Especially when they are crossing on a frozen lake and sinking in at the same time.

Am sure it adds to the excitement. There's a cute lady driver doing it too!

After driving 35 foot step vans for years, and having fun on the roads around here during the winter months. Makes me quiver when I see them on hills going backwards. If you've had that experience, you know what I mean. I think the pretty girl is sitting on more then me.

I have some fun in my bus in the snow... Without passengers on, of course!

Ice Road truckers

They had a second series where 4 drivers from North America (Lisa, Alex and Rick from IRT) and another driver went to drive trucks in the Himalayas. My God, the way those people drive there would scare the bejeezus out of me. The roads suck, the trucks suck and the weather sucked. It was interesting, though. They just do everything half-assed in that part of the world.

I have been following Ice road truckers, and now Ice road truckers deadliest roads. They are totally nuts over there in India the way they drive as well as what they drive on. It would seem the value on human life is set pretty low. makes you wonder how much they are paying the North American truckers to risk their lives on those roads.

They couldn't pay me enough to drive there, I can tell you that.

Ive been driving on the frozen lakes here for years, its not that bad if you know what to look for, slushy areas and pressure cracks can ruin your day if you don't keep a close eye out.

Here is a pic where we are out about 8-9 miles on around 16" of ice.

I enjoy watching the show. I see a lot of time they run illegal. Especially the guy called the Hugh the Polar Bear. He needs to learn hours of service.

Steve check out the IRT deadliest roads series filmed in the Himalayas, it will make driving on ice seem tame.
