Taxes Going Up? You Need To Look At This

Got a statement from the Department of Defense today. Noticed that starting March 1 my witholding tax will rise from $1.88 per month to just over $50. To me that seems like a very sizeable rate increase. Didn't get a raise last year. Actually my take home pay went down $1.88 and then this year didn't get a raise and now my take home pay will go down a little over $50 per month. At this rate in a few years I will be paying the government to say I retired from the military.

Be watching your pay stubs over the next month or two and see if your taxes also take a hefty jump.

We have got to pay for all the wasteful spending and to try and repay China for all the money we owe them.

My guess is that this letter was printed before the whole Republican/President deal in December where they ended up extending the Bush tax rates for 2 years. I remember there were claims that some tax rate tables had been sent out by the IRS already. If the IRS could do it, the military certainly could have too.
According to the Democrats, the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich, so I guess this means you're rich Gene.

That was what I told my wife. The only ones benefitting from the tax cuts is the rich. I didn't get a tax cut I got a tax raise. That means the only people that will be taxed at higher rates will be the poor and hard working people.

Trust me Gene... the "rich" (or whatever anyone wants to call rich) pay taxes -- and at a far higher rate than most.

There is such a thing a AMT which almost assures those making over a certain amount pay 35% of their income in taxes. It removes most deductions; so that rate is applied to a large-part, if not all, of their gross income.

If you paid a 35% tax-rate on most of your gross income, I'll bet you wouldn't feel the "rich" don't pay taxes. Just saying... ;)

The killer is SS cards and the like are not really legal under the cons. The Govt is taxing things they should not and have no rights to under the cons.

The govt created the new rules in 1933 when this country went tits up and has been ever since.

I never volunteered to be taxed or take a number, I couldn't get work with out the number.

The biggest scam in history occured before most of us here were born.

I hate to be a pessimist, but it's just going to get worse. SS cards to track our work and finances, cameras everywhere, regulations on everyting you do everyday. You can't scratch your behind without the Gubmint knowing about it.

Not only that, I would wager that no person in our country can go a day without breaking a law.

There hasn't been a day I haven't broke the labor laws since I crushed my back on the job in 87.

No one will hire you with a pre-existing condition, and I don't do welfare.

I still get to pay taxes.

The first looser who tries a TSA grope on me is gonna need workers comp fer a set of new choppers though, and that counts double if they touch my wife.
