It's over. Grrrrrr

Riding season that is. I squeezed in a couple of days this week riding the Nomad to work. Yes, it was dark and it was cold but it was dry. NO BUGS.

Weather has taken a turn. Snow forecast for the next four days. Highs next week in the 20's with single digit lows. It was a great year for riding, except for being on crutches for a while. I'm going to make up for it next year though.

Now, it is fly tying season. I need to hit the bench and sit under that bright light to keep my sanity for the long dark winter ahead. Who knows, maybe this winter I will be able to tie up a fly that fish actually will want to eat on a consistent basis.

Sometime this winter I need to do the cam chain extenders.

In the meantime, the world is getting whiter by the minute.

Jingle bells, jingle bells............

Fly tying sounds like a good way to spend the winter indoors. I hopefully still have a few more days left this season, then I too will hibernate. I'll refinish an old gunstock and get them all cleaned and oiled while watching old westerns.
And I'll be digging out the snowblower to have it on hand as well this weekend.

Here is a photo of my favorite Chinook salmon fly. It is irresistable for most hungry Chinooks.... !

Kris that looks like a sack of eggs.

Well, we got 4 inches here today. I pulled the mower deck off of the lawntractor and mounted the snow blower. Already cleaned out my driveway and two others and blew off a bunch of the road.

Forecast now calls for the weather to clear off by Wednesday with lows near zero and single digit highs. Winter is here with a vengeance.

I saw on the weather today that your part of the country is going to get hammered. Batten down the hatches and stay warm.

The storm is supposed to hit us Mon-Tue, with highs only in the 60's. I'm going to have to dig out my winter coat!

Better dust off the long johns, electric sox and the old balaclava. You will probably freeze at 60 degrees.

Bud, I sure hate it for you. Especially since your riding season was cut short. Hope we get some of your snow this winter. Been a while since we had any measurable snow.

Borax is old school.....they have some really good powdered cures nowadays that really rock. I use a combination of Pro-Cure and Pro-Glow....pour in a little liquid krill, some sardine oil....and voila...!! SALMON CANDY... !

My season was cut short too. The bike went into winter storage a week ago. Last year I managed a ride on Nov 29th, not to be this time..... Not even a last seasonal ride, other than a scoot fer fresh gas in the tank and back, thats only 14 miles rnd trip.
