Battery Size?

What is the battery size for a 2003 1500 nomad. Mine went dead with my son riding it. Thanks....-Rich

Hey Rich! I just checked and it looks like the batteries are the same for 1500's and 1600's. I just put a new one in my 2007 a month ago. I installed a XTAX20CH I picked up at a Batteries Plus store locally. It also lists a XTAX16 which is what the original battery was.

Reading your thread, we did end up going to a battery plus store too. BUT, the 20ch battery was taller than the stock ATAX16bs. So I bought the 16.

Where is the charging system on the Nomad? I would like to check it out to make sure there's no problems there. Thanks again....-Rich

How much taller? Mine was maybe 1/8" taller than stock. It fit just fine.

I bought the "20" size also and had no problems with fit. Got mine from www.batterymart.com.
