Silver Bullet signals to replace stock

I am looking to replace my stock signals on the rear of an 08 1600 with the silver bullet style lights. I also ordered the light bar kit from Chuckster and will be looking to replace the front OEM marker lights on the front with the silver bullets also. I cant find any information about whether they will work with the stock rear bar that the OEM signals are attached to and have looked for alternatives. Also, any mounting suggestions for the bullets on the front would be appreciated. If anyone has made this change or has any suggestions for making the change, your help would be appreciated.

If you are doing this to get the teardrop looking light than there is a cheaper way. Kuraykyn makes a nice bezel for the stock lights. But if ya just like the looks of the silver bullets than have at it. I know of no way to mount them to the stock mounts, front or rear.

Here's a rear shot of mine with the bezels and extra brake lights, Kuryakyn, mounted on the reflector supports.

As for the front you can use clamps on the crash bar to mount lights. Might be a little low for turn signals but I have my large silver bullets with 35 watt bulbs mounted on the crash bar and it gives a nice triangle effect for visability to other folks on the road.

Silver Bullet signals to replace stock

Damn, but I like all those tail lights...Wife was behind me in the car a few weeks ago and commented on how little light the tail light gives out (with LED bulb). I would like to beef up the rear end to give more driving and brakes lights...One little tail/brake lights just isn't enough. Fortunately, I don't do much night riding but sure don't want one up the rear cause I couldn't be seen.

You pretty much hit it on the head James. I am pretty much just looking for the effect that your lights have. I was unaware of the bezels and figured the only way to do it was to replace the entire light. Do the bezels just snap on like the OEM lens? I have looked on the site for the bezels but am not sure exactly what I am looking for to replace the OEM lens? Any help on this? Also, you answered my second question...guess ill be replacing the front lens with the bezels also once I find them. Also, do you just have the extra brake lights wired into the main tail light? And im just taking a guess at this, but do the extra lights only come on when you apply your brakes or do the function as running lights also?

The link petenomad posted is correct. You can also get these on ebay from the Kuryakyn Outlet shop. On ebay look for the KAOUTLET store. Or from most aftermarket shops.

I've made a small change since I took the pic's. In the pic's the turn/run/brake lights [old turn signals] are controlled by a Kuraykyn run/turn/brake mod, plug and play. So the old turn signals are now all three. Works good. The high mounted extra brake lights only come on with the brake lights, wired directly to the brake light. Kind of like the third high mounted brake light on cars. Very visible.

Now I took out the Kuryakyn R/T/B mod, replaced the single filament sockets in the stock rear turn signals with a dual, 1157, socket and added a "Knight Rider LED tag frame.

http://www.customdynamics.com/knight...e_Plate_Frames

The regular tail light works as normal, the turn signals are now running lights and turn signals, the high mounted extra lights are brake lights only and the LED lic. frame scrolls normally and flashes when I hit the brakes. Can't miss me now!

I have the plug and play Kuraykyn run/turn/brake mod. for sale if interested, $65 includes shipping.

If you need help with anything just ask.

So you took the RTB mod off, and replaced the bulbs with dual filament bulbs. Im guessing when you put the RTB mod in that you had to use the single filament bulbs instead of the dual filament? So the bulbs are back to stock?

No the r/t/b mod uses electronics to make the stock single filament bulbs do double duty. Stock is single filament. The r/t/b mod basically lowers the voltage to the single filament bulb so that when the brake or turn is activated the voltage is returned to normal and the light looks brighter than just the running light which is being fed a lower voltage. Remember a 1157 bulb is usually a 3/21 watt bulb. In other words the run part on the bulb is 3 watts and the brake or turn part is 21 watts. A normal 1156 bulb is 21 watts. So when the r/t/b mod drops the voltage to the 1156 bulb it looks like the 3 watt side of the 1157. With the r/t/b mod when the brakes are applied or the turn signal activated the voltage goes back to normal and the full 21 watts shows up.

Not sure this makes since but it's the best I could explain it.

Just re-read your last post...the bulbs are now 1157 dual filament bulbs wired as run and turn only.

Are those universal bullets you used for the extra brake lights and did you have to get any special mount hardware for the license plate bracket? I can't figure out what bullets you have on there or how they are mounted. Any links to the parts would be great

Here's a link to Kuryakyn's ebay outlet store with the lights;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Univ-...Q5fAccessories

I just drilled a hole in the reflector bracket and bolted them on, ran the wire inside the lic. bracket, out the bottom and under the rubber gasket on the tail light. Connected to the brake light wire.

Thanks for all the information, guess I need to start getting a list of parts to upgrade and replace. I kinda like the led bar you posted a link about. No I have to decide which way to go with the upgrades.
