Paint and Pin Stripe Question

I called a Kawa dealer and ask if they could order me some paint and pinstripeing for my fairing. I have an 08 Red/Black I only need the Red. The dealer said they can't get ther paint or pinstripe.

I went to a wholesaler who sells paint and pinstripe assc to body shops. They put a camera on the red and gave me a code for the paint match. The guy looked through about 5 books and could not find the red/gold match. Anyone know where I can get the pinstripe and or paint? Hard to believe Kawa will not sell paint to it's dealers.

On a side note, I did what most goverment employees did today thanked ole Chris Columbus and took advantage of the record warm temps here (85 today normaly highs in the lowe 60's) and rode. I test rode a Cross Country and it was awsome!

None of the dealers I know of paints bikes. If you want paint, you need to go to Colorite.com.

OMG!!!! They're quite proud of their paint! It's been a while since I priced automotive paint.

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

Your right on being proud! ... the local wholesaler wanted the same money .... makes me wonder if they get it from colorite. By the way I was ask the "Question" yesterday.... rare that I get the "question" of course we all know what the "Question" is ..... "why don't I get a real bike "....... my standard answer is ... " I can't afford a BMW I see you can't either"

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

i have the candy fire red and diablo black bike. I added a fairing also here is what I did. the red I got was mixed from shooting the side cover with the color matc gun they have at the parts store (Colours) the red was called fire red. and the black I just got honda black. now the red is a little darker and my painter told me this is why. 1st we painted the blak then masked out the red and shot it right on top of the black this is where we should have paited silver as a base under the red. as far as the pinstripping goes. I got colors to match just in a larger size the and to tell the truth you can't tell unless your looking for it.

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

http://gocolours.com/ they have a local store front. The clerk let me take the color charts outside to the bike and I was able to match something very close. the only thing was the width was wider the other suggestion would be to free hand the lines.

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

When I had my fairing painted the bodyshop matched the red and black perfectly as well as the pinstripe.
I think the pinstripe is just a standard gold stripe that is available anywhere.

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

All this talk about paint has me thinking of what to do with my Nomad. I have the H.D. fairing and trunk in the pearl blk. Not at all like the blk. on the Nomad but close enough where it complements each other. With the "leather" seat, bag chaps, and tank bib being a off blk. kind of gray it looks OK. But I'd like to add some pearl blk. to the rest of the bike. Or maybe go blk. on the lower portion of the fairing and bottom of the trunk. and put the pearl gray on the top of the gas tank and the top of the saddle bags. Sort'a like your red/blk. Steve. Thanks "crabby" along with the rest of you......you got me think'in now. :-/ ??? :-/
sorry for steal'in this thread ...I hope you get the paint you're look'in for "crabby".

Hey Kevin !! welcome back!! How was the trip??
Envy ??? No I'm just trying to work with the two colours I now have on the bike. Some might say it's a two tone Nomad now.

Paint and Pin Stripe Question

I tried the paint prog. to try and show the contrast. the way the light played on the blk., it became the gray and then I tried to paint over the blk with blk. I tried to show a two tone style. With a gold pinstripe...... any comments? other than my unsteady hand while painting.
