Gun control again?

Looks like gun control hasnt ended.

Obama Administration Reverses Course, Forbids Sale of 850,000 Antique Rifles

The really really special part is:

The White House referred questions on the issue to the Pentagon, which referred questions to the U.S. Embassy in South Korea, which deferred back to the State Department.

Gun control again?

What the idiot doesn't realize is that they won't retail for cheap. These rifles in fair to good condition will retail for close to $1K. In good to excellent condition they will go for well over $1K. Unlike the cheaper stamped receiver AK's and SKS's that sell for under $400, they won't fall into the hands of criminals unless they are stolen from a burglarized home. If you can't pass the FBI NICS instant background check, you can't purchase a firearm legally, period! An individual with any kind of criminal history can't purchase the cheapest .22 pistol or rifle on the market. If they lie when filling out the 4473 form, the phone call will disqualify them from purchasing anything. The Garands also are very heavy and would be my last choice to use in a crime. When are they going to block importation of Glocks, HK's, PPK's and other foreign handguns? These are more of the weapon of choice for criminals because they can be concealed and can accept high cap magazines. It's just the beginning....they had to start somewhere and it will only get worse as long as the libs control all branches of government.

They are supposed to try and scrap our gun registry here Sept 22, there is some opposition to it but with some luck it will finally go through.
Its been nothing but a huge waste of money from the beginning.

Be a nice rifle to own. I wouldn't mind owning on myself. Maybe the administration will change again and allow the sale of the rifles.

Good luck Ring, I hope they follow through and dump the list.

Same old same old.. be kinda neat to see gangsta's try and use the Garands wouldn't it?

I don't think they make sideways sites for these.

I can't wait for the clown in chief to get the hell out of our country.

But first, before he does , I want him to pay up that 15 trillion bucks!

Yeah Mac, you'd have plenty of bad guys with the end of a thumb missing. If you don't know what you're doing when you shove those rounds down into the magazine, you'll find out soon enough. Many old vets are proud to show you their "Garand Thumb".

I learned about that before I jammed my thumb thankfully. I also learned about the bite a Govt .45 can do and so far missed that suffering as well. Another trick I haven't needed yet thank the stars is the need to decock a Govt .45 from the wrong end!

These folks making the last decsion couldn't tell the working end of a screw driver, so it's no wonder at all what they do.

You carry your 1911 cocked and locked? The only way to carry it IMO.

Yeah, they tend to be more effective that way, unless you intend to use it as a club! :)
(And there are way better clubs!)

Daryl, I know a couple of guys that carry them with the hammer down. Can't talk them out of it. Fear of the unknown.....

Gun control again?

Yeah is there any other way? The longer I live the more scared I get, and I also carry a NNA mini convertable all the time.

Some one at the Lk G event was also armed, which was comforting to me anyway. No one ever mentioned a word, but I got eyes. On line chat is another thing.

I have (3) .45 acp shooters, only one is double action, and it is on either a first rnd, or can hit a bad primer again.

If things ever went good for a change, I might get a ,357 wheel gun, but it seems impossible. As of a few years ago I came by the idea of keeping my brass, my brass.

More or less my wife would have access to that. But i would carry it as well. My wife isn't very mechaniclly inclined, but she is one hell of a good pistol shooter just the same. She is even better with a rifle like a K-98 8mm mauser.

I just love the look in her eyes after a rnd of that just went down range. But she is deadly with it.
