Residents get 6 votes each in suburban NY election

Dont know how this is justified but apparently someone has found a way to get 6 votes per voter.....if they are a minority?
Dont really understand the basis of how this could be fair or even legal.....but it is.

Is this like everyother 1st step to becoming law of the land???? We are hosed!!

Maybe I didn't read that right but the way I understand it, EVERYBODY gets to vote 6 times. Not just the Hispanics.
Did I not understand?

Next the government will just appoint the leaders and do away altogether with the mess of voting.

Thats my point... I dont understand why 6 votes per person because of minority not being represented reasons what ever that means?

6 votes per person dont add up... they cant trust the one vote one person system so whats the point other than add more confusion to ... 1000 voters in the district but canidate got 6000 votes can now be laid at the feet of... yep thats the way we do things instead of HEY DEAD PEOPLE VOTED!!!

You think that's bad... I am from Illinois and Chicago-land. (I was one of the 9% that didn't vote for Obama ;))

Around here, we vote early and often!!! It has been a practice for decades.

President Kennedy was elected on the Chicago vote based on dead-people voting, and others voting multiple-times. (No one around Chicago argues that statement.)

Oh... isn't this a great country we live in?

Actually it is, I remember when I was young and left leaning, when I was pointing out the bad the older guys would tell me "Yeah it aint perfect, but try and find another country better that you want to live in"....always stumped me with that one.

Nothing is perfect... look at anything in this world and it has some flaw in in preventing perfection.......

America isnt perfect but America is about as close as you "Used" to be able to find. Somehow we have taken an accelerated path to becoming just another one of the ones like everyone else when we used to be the example.

I know I'm not saying anything that hasnt been said before and actually is sort of intuativley obvious to anyone with half a brain.

someone is trying to destroy that. They aint using guns to do it, they are making things "Although unethical they are legal” tricks of laws they are passing while we are asleep at the wheel......

America is still the greatest place on earth and the free people and people who truly wish to be free wish they were lucky enough to be born in it....

Sorry for joking about it but I'm just tired at the way our government is running over the Constitution, if the community is 50% Hispanic and they cant get one elected how is giving each voter 6 votes going to help.

I'm speechless.

I got another one for you..

Non-citizen immigrants whose children are enrolled in San Francisco public schools would be able to vote in school board elections, under a proposed charter amendment for the fall ballot in 2010

Being a past Illinois resident I remember years ago being able to cast three ballots. One each for three different people. All three for one person, or any combination thereof. That dissapeared some time ago. Don't remember why.

The six votes for each voter will only work if more than two people are running for that office, since there is more of a possibility that the voter would split his vote.

As far as Greg's comment about dead people voting; I participated (GOP volunteer) in helping purge the voter rolls in Illinois back in the early 90s. One item I will never forget was over 10,000 dead people were still registered as voters AND a little over half of them voted a year earlier in the 1992 Fall election. There were 1000s more who left the State but were still on the rolls.

It makes a good case to flush the voter lists every two years and make everyone register again. Of course that would never happen in Illinois.
