Back together, won't run...update 5/26 photo

Got her all back together, put in some fuel and cranks fine won't stay running. Seems to catch but giving it gas kills it. Was idleing a bit a first with knob out. Checked all connections and seem fine.

Had the whole thing apart. Had everything painted. Got the tubing connected ok. Got the electrical all back together. Everything lights up. No blown fuses. No missing hoses. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn on the key. Started and idled for a moment but throttle kills it.

HELP
Are both cylinders firing? (Touch the exhaust headers to feel warmth). This sounds like a problem I had a couple years ago. One of the coil leads had worked loose. I took it off, resoldered and it worked perfectly.

The coils are under the tank, follow the spark plug wires to them.
Also check your hoses and vacumm lines under the tank to make sure the are all connected and not kinked anywhere.

charlie,

I concur with Ring, sounds like a vacuum line is disconnected. Don't worry about how hot the headers feel, you haven't had it running long enough. Pull the tank and check all the line connections around your throttle body and then to all sensors.

Keep us posted

It does sound like a vac leak. What intake air filter(s) and did you do coasters? Are the idle solenoids still hooked up or are they gone too?

Stock air. Nothing diconnected or plugged. Nothing appears kinked. Tank is going back on and will try again.

P.S. You guys are all great and I really appreciate all the help.

If it isn't too late check the vac tubing on the vac pod... This is the smallest tubing and it goes to the throttle body. it is real hard to see down where it goes on the TB, but if the bike spit back ever, you may have blown the tubing off the brass vac port on the TB.

The tank will have to come off, its the best way to see in there for any kinked or disconnected lines. Also check to see if the lines are split. Sometimes they crack and leak, and on a quick glance look ok.

Be sure and let us know what happens Charlie. All have given sound advice and it does sound like a line problem. Sometimes hard to detect.
