Motorcycle Accident - Kawasaki

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Illinois Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

Shazad Haider, 37, of Huntley, Illinois, was killed on Tuesday evening when he crashed his 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle on Little River Road.

Haider was heading west on the road when he lost control of his motorcycle, failed to negotiate a curve, and collided with a rock wall. He was riding with three other friends when the accident occurred. A motorist stopped at the accident scene and began CPR on Haider, but was unable to revive him.

Rangers were on scene within 15 minutes and were joined by county deputies. Haider was taken by ambulance to Blount Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead before arriving there.

We ride dangerous vehicles and we know it, this is not a place to keep reminding us of it! These types of posts can really take the wind out or your sails. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

A sad sad reminder not to push it on roads you don't know
If we really embraced the danger we would all stop riding

I have driven River Road many times but never on bike. There are numerous dangerous roads in and around the park. You have to drive slow and ride slow for sure. Sorry to hear of the death of another biker.

My husband and I have an understanding that if something happens to either of us while riding...we were doing what we loved and enjoyed.
