Hi all, new member here. Great forum! Been lurking and reading a bit and thought I would finally join in. I bought my black and silver 2005 off of E-Bay in February of 2006 to replace my 02 Suzuki Volusia that I was riding at the time. The Nomad had been hit hard in the front end and required extensive surgery before I could ride it. During the rebuild it seemed like I became best friends with the parts guys at Ron Ayers. I finally finished the bike during the first week of July, got it inspected by the registry (another story and a good reason to NOT buy a salvage bike), and put it on the road. The finished bike looks like new and is a great ride. The P.O. had equipped it with a power commander, V&H bagger exhaust, sissy bar rack, Cobra Light Bar, (that I had to replace because of the accident), and a chrome speedo sun shield. I've got almost 10,000 miles on the clock (got it with 3,650) and no problems whatsoever. Was it worth all the aggravation? Yea I think it was. I learned a lot about the bike doing the rebuild and as a bonus I got to sit out in the garage late into the night, drink beer, smoke cigars and cuss out loud!
