I'm running a Continental Vanco 2, 185/75/16. It really corrects the speedo error.

Weren't you using a Federal tire? What happened to it? I remember you posting about getting a great deal on the Vanco, how do the two compare?

I'm running a Dunlop SP 5000 195/60-16. No modifications needed. I'm very satisfied with my CT. Handles extremely well and shows little to no wear at 7,000 miles. Pull a trailer riding 2 up 90% of my riding.

I am running a Bridgestone 195/60-16 on my 06 Nomad. It's much better than the OEM Stones and at 7,000 miles it looks like new. I will go to a 65 profile next time to raise the back end and correct the speedometer.

I'm running a Dunlop SP 5000 195/60-16 and pull a trailer... 2 up also.
But I only have about 5500 miles on mine so far.
No way will you ever see a BT on the back of my bike again!!

The Federal was a great tire, up until I rode to Daytona and back.

It was just too short, the speedo was way off. The 185/75/16 raised the bike 1.33 inches. The tire is 2.66 inches taller. Fuel consumption has gone down. Fifth gear is just an overdrive now. I can't use it under 70mph.

All in all The Federal was a great 1st DS tire, but the Vanco is way better.

I had 12000 on the Federal and gave it to a guy at the shop that swapped my tires. He was curious and wanted to try a DS but wasn't sure and the Fed would fit his Roadstar. So it still lives

I'm using a Vredestien Light duty truck tire Size 175/75/16. Raises the bike about .6 of an inch. Corrects speedo by a little more than a third. I wanted a tire close to stock width but more height but not a lot of height. 5' 9" and it hurts to much to go to England to use the "rack" to stretch myself. I notice the height but my feet are still flat on ground.

nomader, you might want to check out the delphi darkside forum, lotsa good info there about tires and a data base for which tires fit etc. Also the proper way to break in a CT. FWIW, i run a SP5000 195/60-16 on my nomad with 4 grand and it looks like a new tire. chuck

I'm running the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. Size is 205/60R-16. Darn good looking tire with uni-directional tred. Fits with no mods, but there is only .09" of clearance between the sidewall and the swing arm. Corrected speedo error to about 5%. Another side note, this tire can't tell the difference between dry or wet pavement.
