I recently purchased a 2001 1500 FI as you might know it is hard to find accessories for this year. My question is are there any crossover from later years that will fit a 2001 Nomad. This may have covered before so please excuse the repetition. Dan

What kind of accessories are you looking for? In general, the availability of accessories for the Nomad is not real impressive.

Kawasaki offers hardly anything and companies like Cobra don't have much more to offer.

There is some commonality between 99 to 04; other than the FI. But like Scott said there are not a lot of aftermarket accessories.

I also have a 2001 Nomad. I had to document all the accessories for insurance purposes. The bike is loaded thanks to the original owner. This bike is heavily laden with chrome and probably has 50% more add-ons than my '99 Nomad had. I bought this bike because of the accessories. The good news is, in documenting the add-ons for my agent I found most all of them were available at "customcruising.com" or "cruiserstuff.com" Regarding the crossover question I can't answer that. Having been a victim in a motorcycle crash last year I cannot tell you how important the extra insurance is for your accessories. I now pay $110 more/year to fully cover the nearly $4,500 in extras. Without the insurance last year I lost $3,000 on my totaled Goldwing. They paid only $.20 on the dollar or $800 for the $4,200 of chrome on that bike.
I know......I know......it will never happen to you, but be careful. You know those people who like to turn left in front of you? We are always looking for them. Well, she did and and I hit her. Zero reaction time. She told the police she did not see me. By the way, I am a firm believer of buying on Ebay so check them also for bike parts. If you shop carefully you can save a ton of money on Ebay. Likewise, selling used bike parts there will fetch you some change. I'm still parting out the Goldwing and selling all of it. Good luck on your search for parts. I will try and attach a pic of my bike. It might be to large of a photo Login or Register to Remove Ads |

My husband has an '01 1500 and I have an '03 1500 and both are loaded with accessories. Along with the factory parts, engine guard, bag guards, sissy bar and windshield, that's is a lot of accessories on a motorcycle. Here's a list:
Fire and Steel (Kawasaki) Front fender rail Rear fender rails Light bar Saddlebag top rails Saddlebag bottom rails Luggage rack Radiator cover Driver backrest Passenger backrest Speedometer cowl Signal light eyelashes Headlight eyelash Passenger grab rails Kuryakin ISO grips with 2 colored, accent rings flat end caps Brake pedal Shift pedal Highway pegs with dually offsets Electrical Power Point Add all of the leather (made by me) and our Nomads are pretty well loaded. There is more accessories we can get but chose not too like because most of those are things no one would notice or we do not like. We paid more for genuine Kawasaki parts and the Kuryakin but they all fit like their supposed to, and where their supposed to whereas aftermarket parts can be a nightmare to fit sometimes. |

There are lots of accessories for the 1500's, thats a big part of the reason I still have mine. I have more chrome on mine than I think Ive ever seen on any Nomad. Most of it is Kawi F&S stuff.
Now that the bikes havn't been in production for six years some of the stuff is probably discontinued.

The 1500's have more add-on parts than the 1600's do.....

The amount of add-on accessories for Nomads doesn't weigh nearly as much as the add-ons available for H-Ds. ;)
