HD ULTRA SEAT

Has anyone tryed putting a 2009 HD Ultra seat on a Nomad? I have a 2007 and that seat and it is a GREAT seat but never tried to do it because my bike is not here right now. Has anyone tried ?? Anyone?

I've heard you can do a lot with duct tape!

Seriously, I don't even know how an ultra seat attaches. But someone may have tried this already...

The Ultra seats Ive seen attach with one screw at the back of the seat. I doubt it will fit on a Nomad but perhaps with some creative thinking and a couple brackets you may get it to fit.

A couple of 6" deck screws through the middle should do the trick.

I heard those seats are expensive. And they come with almost a half ton of junk metal attached to the bottom of them.

Just goes to show that seat choice is subjective!
Last fall went for a long weekend in western NC with friend whose rides a 07 Ultra. We swaped for a afternoon around Maggie Valley cause he was bragging about how great the Ultra cornered. Bike was nimbler than the Nad at really slow speeds and has a little more cornering clearance but no more a canyon carver than the Nad is.
What I do remember thought is it had the worst seat I ever sat on in 40 years of riding! I mean the seat is awful! But then that is just my Butt's opinion, another butt might well love the seat!

He said Nad was comfy once you got it moving and predictable but needed more motor. Of course he has stage 2 screamin eagle mods with motor that was already bumped to 101 cu in and it is quite a bit more powerful than my Nad.

Ive sat and ridden a few different Ultra's the last few years, and to me everyone had a better stock seat than the Nomad does for long days in the saddle.

I have a problem with my Nomads seat it pushes me further down and away from the handle bars? I put 2009 bars on my 2007 and it helped but this is a new bike for me (with 400 miles on it). I have owned Vulcan Classic's before and when I sit on the 2009 -2008 no problems but this bike?? I think maybe the other owner did something to the seat (like cut out some material??) because that deep pocket draws me down and away from the bars and my arms stretch out , it does not feel normal at all ? I have owned about 73 bikes in my life so it's not like the 5 or the 10 th bike I have had, it is a tough one for me.
